Airport Dream

Thanks for Reading.

I’ll try to get through this the best I can.

I just woke up from a dream, and we all do, I swear.

But this dream is in my bones, and I swear that I was dreaming it for exactly a year. No joke, 365 days.

This is what happened:

I was in the boarding area of an airport, and the lights were dimmed, which felt odd, but I saw my surroundings clearly.

There was an explosion, and the observation windows shook. It was definitely outside and nearby.

Travellers were jumping out of their seats and running around in confusion.

I spotted an entrance to a corridor.

It was brightly lit with neon ceiling lights. I went to it then travelled down it endlessly.

It was nothing but white walls and the lights, I almost couldn’t take them.

After what seemed for months I came across a door. I tried to open it but it was locked.

There was a phrase written on it.

Dig hard for skull.

From my coat pocket I got out a pencil and notepad then wrote it down.

I kept going down the corridor. A few months later I found another locked door.

This was written on it:

139 D 119

I copied it down, and carried on:

Again months passed before I found the final door. I wrote down the message on it:

Dig for peace of mind.

I continued to follow the corridor and months later, finally arrived at the exit, exactly a year from when I entered it.

I was in the airport again. In the passenger area. The sky was blue. Flights were taking off, and folks were browsing around stores and coffee shops, and I woke up.

The messages on the doors are clear in my head.

Dig hard for skull 139 D 119 Dig for peace of mind.

Anyway, now that the dream is off my chest, I’m gonna grab a bowl of fruit loops.

Adiós, amigos.
