Letter Number 2. The Mysterious Bluffs Podcast. August 2026.
Dear Micheal,
I can’t believe I’d find a second to email you back, or return your letter, as an antique salesman like you would call it. But you should understand how hard it is for me to write you.
By the last days of our marriage I felt trapped in a void, a relationship that didn’t exist. You were married to your antiques store. Your assistant Jeeves understood your life better than I did, and my frustration had long been growing that your wife was never more important than him.
BTW I have listened to your podcast the odd time, and the man you call my fitness instructor has a name. JULES. When I heard it, I was disappointed that you turned JULES into a faceless villain who lifts weights to impress women that can’t get past an oily set of muscles. You should know I’m not like that.
I married you for a reason, idiot. I too was at the Gelato Shop when we met. We had a great conversation about tropical vacations. I wanted to try surfing, and your thing was wading in the water with a life jacket on.
Really, you were kind of wimpy, but I was comfortable with you being yourself. So you know the truth about me. I’m not a girl who falls for a man dumber than the dumbbells he pumps, you ass.
When I met JULES at the fitness centre, I wasn’t drooling over his muscles. He immediately was a positive force in my life. He offered tips on stomach crunches and before I knew it, the void of being married to an antiques junkie was filled. You deserved what you got, losing me to JULES.
But recently we’ve broken apart, and foolish me, I should have known another woman would fill the cracks. And by the way, I knew about them before you told me. I saw them together at the fitness centre, and I didn’t notice she looked like me. She seemed kind of dumpy, actually. So, for you to say we look alike is a bit insulting, but I don’t take your opinion of me seriously anymore.
That said, the trash about me on your podcast shows you’re either a shark exploiting me for the amusement of your listeners, or you’re a weak fool who hasn’t gotten over me. Knowing you personally, I’d bet the latter.
Lucky for you, my self-esteem needs mending after seeing JULES and that wench together, and I have a plan to satisfy my needs.
JULES has a little sister named Margaret who just dropped out of veterinarian school to help their sick mother. She is a pretty young lady who is quite the opposite of JULES, never acting less than a saint and putting everyone else ahead of herself.
Last I heard, she is looking for a part time job, and you should hire her to work at your Antiques Store. You two can get to know each other better than most. And when word gets around her innocence is lost, the both of us will have revenge on JULES for the harm he has caused us. Let me know if you can help, and I will find a way you can meet her.
Regards,
Zelda
